Dalzell Estate was constructed around 1844 or thereabouts by Captain E. Sunderland. As per record, a certain Estate commonly called the Dalzell Estate situated at Simla Hills in the East Indies consisting of two houses known respectively as Dalzell House and Dalzell Cottage with the gardens and buildings and appurtenances thereto was on or about the 20th of December 1850 purchased from Captain E.

Sunderland by Elizabeth Ann Cooper of “The Lines”, West End Lane, Kilburn, Middlesex in England. The Deed was registered in the Simla Registry Office on 21st December 1850.  In 1972, Elizabeth Hotz Durrant, who had transferred the property to Hotz Hotels, sold it to the present owners who have owned it for the past 47 years.
